Creative Spaces

Many thanks to the brave three individuals who stepped-up to the You-In-Your-Creative-Space Challenge for June. The challenge was to creatively photograph yourself in your creative space–though we only received a few responses, we weren’t disappointed.

Keely Honeywell: My studio is small and cozy, with a cork board wall that’s great for pinning up whatever inspires me.  It’s the perfect place to lose track of time while writing.” (Photo by Travis Cadez, who also inspires me)

Greg Thomson:My space is too much of what you would expect from a geek. So I had to gussy it up a little. This space would probably work better for me as pictured. Would have a supervisor prodding me forward.

Brooke Matson:Nature is a necessity for my creativity. Even when I’m inside, I have to have light, flowers, and natural patterns around me. Sitting at an artistic Chinese table helps, too.”

As to the “hood challenge” part of the challenge, North Spokane definitely wins by 2 out of 3.

July’s creative challenge will be to participate in Story Walk, an story-in-action, local memory-reviving event. Click here for more details.
