Second Space Gallery

In the loss of so many great local galleries in 2009, Spokane is delighted to have another gallery bloom in the vacant spot where Arts Music and More used to be (AMM now has an online arts magazine and video production group, but no physical space). Second Space Gallery, run by James Hill, is a fantastic artistic space that’s happily situated on 2nd and Wall downtown.

Having the chance to peruse the art there today, I was excited to see a fabulous panel of work by the RiverSpeak Collective’s own Ellen Picken. On the walls, the paintings by Jessie Rasche took my breathe away.

Migration by Jessie Rasche

The painting above, Migration, was my favorite (but then I’m partial to paintings of birds in flight). The skillful impressionism and striking colors Rasche uses is captivating.

If you get a chance to stop by, do! The little gallery space is alive with art.
