Limerick Party at The Checkerboard

People are excited about our Spokane Limerick Creative Challenge–so much in fact, that The Checkboard Tavern (1716 E Sprague)–reopened by the same brilliant people as One World Spokane–has invited us to display submitted limericks during their grand re-opening on Wednesday, March 17th on St. Patrick’s Day.
Starting at 5:30, voting will be open for your favorite limericks. The Rashko’s (owners) have graciously offered to give prizes to the limericks that win popular support from the crowd. There will also be Irish Trivia, games, and more, so don’t miss the fun at The Checkerboard that evening!
A NOTE TO YOUTH: The Checkboard Tavern is, obviously, a tavern, and thus only people 21 and older will be admitted. But don’t despair, young folk. We want to include you, too, so if you submit a limerick, someone will read it for you, and if it wins, we’ll bring you the prize, so keep those limericks coming!
Submit your Spokane-themed limerick via our challenge page by March 16th to be eligible.

A hearty ‘thank you’ to the fine folks at the Checkerboard. I’m unable to make it to the event, unfortunately, so if someone else would be willing to read my limerick, I’d be very grateful. <3
I’m really sad that I’ll be out of town too. It sounds like exactly my kind of St Paddy’s day celebration! And I hope there will be lots of limericks about marmots, because marmots are awesome.
