COMING APRIL 2010

WHAT IS THE TRANSCENDENCE PROJECT (TTP)?

TTP is the opportunity for the Spokane community to come together in a dynamic unprecedented way that provides the prospect for all participating entities to be illuminated while creating experiences of beauty and community building.

TTP is seeking out venues for artists to create non-commercial art installations.  The idea is to utilize vacant commercial spaces in the downtown area, so that artists, who are partnering with local non-profit businesses, can create temporary installations that demonstrate the beauty behind the missions of their non-profit partners.

TTP desires to break down the barriers that separate art and life by displaying that the way we choose to live and interact with our environments is the most beautiful art form we can experience, through both creation and participation.

TTP is a unique mentoring project. It aims to engage youth from a diverse spectrum of community organizations, schools and neighborhoods. Youth from various arenas will be and/or assist artists in the development and implementation of  individual projects, tapping their creative potential and encouraging new investments in the local creative capital present in Spokane’s youth.

Through participation in TTP, we are pioneering a new approach to education. We will learn from each other how seeking out the resources needed to grow as healthy individuals through creative engagement in a strong supportive community will ultimately result in a positive, informed existence.

TTP seeks to be a venture absent of monetary exchange.  While TTP recognizes that costs will be incurred by the participating parties, we hope that the evident gain in their participation through exposure and the creation of a vibrant community culture in Spokane will be a rich enough profit that the costs will be assumed by the participants.
